Combining Mortality and Morbidity Risks – the Next Underwriting Frontier

The popularity of combination products that provide both a death benefit and long term care coverage is growing. Issues surrounding the interaction and tension between morbidity present a genuine underwriting challenge to those who underwrite these new combo products.

This webinar will explore the basic structure of Life-LTC combo products, identify risk issues that might be unfamiliar to Life and LTC underwriters and describe the mechanics of successful combo underwriting. Employing case studies and actual underwriting and claims experience, this session will also examine the importance of collaboration, communication and coordination between the Underwriters and their Medical Department.

Stephen K. Holland, MD is the Chief Medical Officer of LTCG. He brings more than 25 years of LTC and managed care leadership experience to his position at LTCG. A board certified internist specializing in risk management and geriatrics, he has played an integral role in building LTCG and its clinical underwriting and active claims management expertise and Technologies.
